The objective of the workshop is to understand the fundamentals of factory automation. Factory automation refers to the use of technology, machinery, and control systems to streamline and optimize industrial processes, often replacing or augmenting manual labor with automated machinery and computer systems. The benefits of factory automation include Increased Productivity and quality; cost reduction, Safety, flexibility and data analytics. It continues to evolve with advances in technology, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, to further enhance efficiency and competitiveness in the global market.
Factory I/O is a 3D factory simulation for learning automation technologies. Designed to be easy to use, it allows to quickly build a virtual factory using a selection of common industrial parts.
This workshop aims to teach participants how to use Factory I/O, a powerful 3D simulation tool for creating and simulating industrial automation systems. The workshop also introduces advanced automation concepts, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), integration with IoT devices, and Industry 4.0 principles, providing a glimpse into the cutting-edge technologies used in the field.
